Just got finished with lunch and everything I ate was perfect for the day.  A toasted peanut butter and bacon sandwich, milk, cucumber from my Mom’s garden and orange slushy from my garden which all made me feel summery and satisfied.  Somehow orange slushy from an Arizona sweet orange tree just takes the edge off a hot Phoenix day.  As a kid we used to juice lots of Arizona sweets and put them in our big chest freezer to save for a fine hot summer day.  Pure orange juice slushy is better than a popsicle.  We four kids would each pull out a container of pure sweet sunshine and sit around in the heat of the day spooning that frozen juice into our mouths.  This has always been the best summer treat.  Peanut butter and bacon sandwiches are heavenly any time of the year, any season.  The key is to put butter on each piece of toast when its just out of the toaster, spread chunky PB on one piece and add a little crisp bacon and WahLah.  Never had this combo?  You must try it!
