More clothes lines, sunrise and sunset

This is a picture that my cousin Annie took of a creative clothes line in Australia with adjustable lines which go lower for easy pinning and higher for drying. Kirsten and I have been faithfully hanging up our clothes on the line. I got a call at work the other day from Kirsten. She said I hung all out clothes on the line and it poured rain. They are dripping with rain. Do I have to wash them again, or can I let them dry again. We went with letting them dry, since it wasn't a dust storm. What can be cleaner than rain, right? Well they weren't dry by evening, so she was going to leave them up overnight. About 9pm it started pouring again and we finally put them in the dryer! It rained 1.3" that night! That is over 1/7 of our yearly rainfall of 7 inches.
This is a picture that I took of clothes hanging behind a townhouse in Sydney Rocks area
This is sunrise Annie took outside her window in Brisbane, beautiful huh! Good on ya Annie for getting up early!
This is sunset outside my front window in Phoenix with the setting sun shining on a thundercloud over Piestawa Peak.

Kirs, Rowan, Dilly and laundry

In Australia everyone has at least one clothes line. Usually they have one outside in the sun and another under the house or under a covered porch for rainy days. My favorite image was when we visited my aunt's sister and she had laundry hung on lines under a covered porch and sitting among the laundry was a rocking chair. It was so cute, I wish I had taken a picture. Anyway I have started hanging my clothes out on the line on my solar dryer. It's not any harder especially if your washing machine is outside like mine is. Here you see Rowan and Dilly having fun running through the sheets in our backyard.

Our Grandkids Rowan and Dylan. Cute, huh! They and their Mom Kirsten are visiting in Phoenix for up to 6 weeks as a stop over before they move to India. Rob is there already in training for his new job as an airline captain for Kingfisher Airlines in India. Kingfisher is both a airline and a beer, owned by the same man. The beer came 1st, then the airline. Rob was given an offer they couldn't refuse and things have been tough in the American airlines ever since 9/11.
This is Kirsten and Rowan spending some quality time. We are really enjoying all three of them. The kids are a laugh a minute.
